INTRINSICALLY SAFE WORKER PROGRAM (T.I.S.)
Background
The Intrinsically Safe Worker program (TIS) that Transredes S.A. and its contractors have undertaken, seeks to create and maintain a world class HSES culture which means having everyone pushing in the same direction, in accordance to company values. Good HSES performance is a sign that the organization is doing things right in all its areas.
The TIS program seeks an intrinsic motivation with respect to HSES values (take care of oneself and take care of your partners). These actions should not have to be forced, but rather they should become natural and let people work according to their plan. Let's remember that a company with world class “HSES Organizational Culture” is one whose workers do things right without anyone supervising them or telling them what to do.
The key issue in TIS is to have all the organization's personnel (from top down) interested in success and not only a few who have their own plans. This involves quite a lot of effort and commitment at all levels.
