Within our HEMP risk assessment scheme, we have identified
driving vehicles as a “high risk hazard,”
consequently, TRANSREDES offers a safe drivers training
method validated and certified by the Smith Driving System.
We have managed to improve the driving skills of all Transredes
workers and contractors.
 We
have on staff four certified and approved instructors
who provided the method based on the Safe Drivers Program
that establishes TRANSREDES Driving Licences and validation.
This ensures that only approved drivers drive Company
vehicles. As an additional risk control measure, installed
in each company vehicle there is a Vehicle Monitoring
System (VMS) – a “black box” that registers
the speeds and the driver’s reactions. This is complemented
with a driving incentives program to improve driving skills.
The best drivers are awarded prizes in our “Safety
Champions” Program.
The overall goal for this hazard is to reduce the number
of kilometers driven (probability reduction) through “Trip
Planning” –planning and coordination prior
to undertaking any trip.
Additionally, we offer driver training for family members
of our workers along with an awareness program for improving
Safety Habits at home.
