The TRANSREDES gas transmission network covers two-thirds
of the country. It is divided into the Northern and Southern
system having a total installed compression capacity of
59,417.00 HP.
The Northern System includes the Gas Pipeline to the Altiplano
that connects the cities of La Paz, Oruro, Cochabamba,
and Santa Cruz and the system that gathers volumes from
the fields in the Chapare region. The system has a total
length of 1,334 km.
The Southern System attends to the demands from the cities
of Sucre, Potosí, and Tarija. It has a total length
of approximately 1,660 km. The most important segment
in this system originates in Yacuiba, and the 24-in. pipeline
extends 470 km to Río Grande (Santa Cruz) where
it ties in to the Bolivia-Brazil Gas Pipeline.
The importance of the Southern System is based on its
proximity to the considerable natural gas reserves in
the Margarita, Itaú, San Alberto, and San Antonio
fields in the Gran Chaco Region.

The TRANSREDS Liquid Hydrocarbons Transportation Network
covers the central and southern regions of Bolivia. This
Network is divided into four sub-systems: the Northern,
Southern, Central and Western Systems. The Network features
107 pump units with an installed capacity of 42,857 HP.
The Northern System runs from Carrasco to the cities of
Santa Cruz and Cochabamba. It transports crude petroleum
and condensates and has a total length of 793 km.
The Southern System runs from Yacuiba to Santa Cruz transporting
mainly crude petroleuom and Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG).
This system extends along the same right of way as the
Southern Gas Network and has a total length of 883 km.
The Central System goes from Santa Cruz to Cochabamba
transporting mainly crude petroleum, reconstituted petroleum
and LPG. It has a total length of 482 km.
