 HR3. Description of Policies and Procedures to Evaluate and Address Human Rights Performance Within the Supply Chain and Contractors

The application of our Sustainable Development Policy is binding to all our directors, executives, employees, contractors and everywhere Transredes S.A. provides services for third parties. As part of the service agreements defined by the company, contractors are to commit with the following, as stated in the “Reglamento del Contratista”:

  1. Protect life, health and proactively reduce environmental impacts, in every activity of our business.
  2. Abide by National Laws, international standards and implement best practices in every activity.
  3. Identify and proactively manage the risks that could affect Sustainable Development, establish barriers to avoid them from occurring, and implement continuous improvements to related processes.
  4. Stop and report to the management, any insecure or uncontrolled situation.
  5. Keep a sustainable relationship with our stakeholders, add value to the service given to our clients and develop a trust network with the Bolivian society.  

HR4. Description of Global Policy and Procedures/Programs Preventing All Forms of Discrimination in Operations

Transredes S.A. promotes diversity and inclusiveness, as a way of respecting people while complying with the values of the company and the Sustainable Development principles. For this purpose, Transredes S.A. has implemented a standard on Diversity and Inclusiveness as part of its business management system, which is binding to the different areas of influence of the company and based upon our Policy of Sustainable Development.

HR5. Description of Freedom of Association Policy

Freedom of Association is a constitutional right of all employees and employers in Bolivia ( Art. 99 – 104 L.G.T.). Transredes S.A. respects the preferences and political activities of its employees, as established in the integrity principle “Political Activities”.

In the year 2000, our employees decided to constitute a Sport Committee, composed by 10 members in charge of the organization of sport events for all personnel. The board of directors of the Committee is appointed by general vote for a period of a year.

A volunteering group was formed during the year 2001 by 15 employees, with the aim of recollecting funds for solidarity causes. The appointment of this group is permanent and is open to any person willing to contribute.

HR6. Description of Policy Excluding Child Labour as Defined by the ILO Convention 138

According to the Bolivian Law, the minimum age to legally participate in the labour market is 14 years old, in accordance with the limits imposed by the 138 International Labour Organization (ILO) Convention. According to the legislation, people between 14 and 18 years old need authorization from their parents in order to be allowed to work. However, due to the specialized nature of the work at Transredes S.A. and in line with its values and principles, the company does not allow either directly or indirectly through its contractors the hiring of people younger than 18 years old.

HR7. Description of Policy to Prevent Forced and Compulsory Labour

Transredes S.A. fully complies with the local legislation (Ley General del Trabajo), which prohibits forced and compulsory labour in accordance with the guidelines established by the 105 th Convention of the International Labour Organization (ILO).
